G4S night shift workers win a 2k payrise!

G4S night shift workers have won a payrise to bring their salaries in line with day shift workers. They spent 3 years asking for meetings and being ignored - until they started a petition with Organise. Read below to find out how we did it.

Thanks to the support of over 1,200 Organise members, G4S night shift workers have won their fight for equal pay.

This victory means an extra £2,017 in the pockets of night shift workers every year.

Here's what the G4S worker who started the petition has shared with everyone who took part in this important campaign:

“Thank you so much for the support and commitment you put into helping us with this. Without your support, this issue was going to be a dead end and the management was going to continue ignoring us as they have for the past 3 years.”

So how did G4S workers win their campaign? For years, G4S night shift workers tried everything to get management to listen. They raised concerns, asked for meetings, and pushed for fair pay - only to be ignored at every turn. Frustrated but determined, one night shift worker turned to Organise and launched a petition.

Here's how they won their campaign:

1. After writing the petition, the organiser shared it with their other G4S colleagues, who felt safe to sign it because all petitions on Organise are anonymous.

2. The petition gathered public support, rapidly gaining 1,000 signatures and putting public pressure on G4S.

3. Because of all the support, the night shift team felt confident to take their demands and the petition directly to G4S management.

4. Thousands of us voted to expose G4S's unequal pay in the media and to politicians unless they acted fast.

5. Feeling the weight of public pressure, G4S agreed to a meeting, and ultimately, their demands for equal pay!

This victory didn’t just happen - it was built step by step with the collective power of workers and supporters like you. 1,239 Organise members stood up for fairness and won. This is what real change looks like when we come together. You can read more about their petition here.

If you're having an issue at work, why not set up an anonymous petition on Organise and feel the support of our 1 million strong community behind you?
