M&S doubles its maternity and adoption leave to 26 weeks
M&S workers on Organise have won their campaign for better maternity, paternity and adoption policies. After a member-led petition was started, hundreds of M&S workers used Organise to sign and share the campaign, document their experiences in a huge people-powered survey and deliver anonymised reports to the CEO and board.
Now, Marks and Spencer will introduce six weeks of paternity leave at full pay and double its maternity and adoption leave to 26 weeks at full pay. This will make a huge material difference to the working parents at M&S, and M&S workers who are trying to become parents. This win shows the power of collective action in our community.
